What is Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid has been referred to as a fountain of youth. It is a polysaccharide (carbohydrate) found in connective tissues that helps to retain moisture and lubricates your joints and keep your skin full and moist. It is also found in the fluid inside your eyes, acting as a shock absorber and transporting nutrients into the eyes.

Youthful skin is pliable and resistant due to its high water content, and the key molecule that contributes to the skin’s moisture is hyaluronic acid. Dermatologists have long touted the benefits of hyaluronic acid as It can even carry up to 1,000 times its weight in water.

There is a large amount of hyaluronic acid between the skin cells, where it keeps your skin moist, firm, and supple. Babies have plump, dewy skin because they are born with a high level of hyaluronic acid.

Unfortunately as you age, the amount of hyaluronic acid and collagen in your skin diminishes. While you’ll never be able to make your skin look as plump and smooth as it did when you were a baby, you can restore your skin’s hyaluronic acid levels to give it a fresh and youthful appearance. Skin that has high hyaluronic acid content looks healthy, soft, and smooth.

Hyaluronic Acid Clinical Studies

The specific type of hyaluronic acid used in Taut Hydrate (Hyabest (S) LF-P) is produced by a proprietary fermentation method (non-animal source) with high purity and a low molecular weight (so it can actually penetrate skin).

Below is a snapshot at a couple of the clinical studies on Hyabest (S) LF-P:

Nutrition Journal, 2014

“A report has revealed that consuming HA manufactured by fermentation also moisturizes the skin. The HA group had better skin moisture than the placebo group during the ingestion period. Furthermore, two weeks after HA ingestion, the HA group showed significant improvement in skin moisture compared with the placebo-controlled group.”

“(Hyabest®(S) LF-P) improved the skin’s moisture content in an ultraviolet irradiated skin model. Features of skin aging, such as wrinkle formation, occur primarily because of irradiating ultraviolet rays from sunlight; thus, HA can also be expected to have anti-aging effects, such as improving skin texture and reducing wrinkles.”

Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology, 2017

“The results suggest that oral HA (both HA 2 k and HA 300 k) inhibits skin wrinkles and improves skin condition.”
